Phillip and Mee Len (nee Ng) Holt, were married in the late Eighties, and now live in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, (click to view film), Surrey, England, about 12 miles from the heart of London. They also have a home in Bukit Mertajam (Malaysia), on the mainland near to Penang, being Mee Len's hometown. Phillip originates from the Midlands of the UK, from a small town called Chasetown in the County of Staffordshire (see Where has my school gone?). They met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1984, when Phillip was asked to taxi some nurses from their living accommodation in the desert, to a friends barbecue. Not seeing each other for over a year, they were travelling in adjacent seats on an Egypt Air flight back to the UK. Phillip failed to recognise Mee Len until prompted. From then on, they have never looked back. Phillip and Mee Len have since their return to the UK, moved about. They lived and still have a house in the City of Peterborough, but Phillip's work took him to the Surrey town of Surbiton. For months they searched to find an affordable home, eventually finding the unusual home of Mr Toots.
![]() Mr Toots (built in 1947), is a Dickens Class ocean going vessel, which had since her decommissioning from the British MOD, has been in private hands. Friends who know the story of Mr Toots, especially Richard who now owns Mr Toots, and Chris Rawlinson who was in command of the fleet whilst in the British Army, will verify what a terrible state she was in. But, Mee Len and Phillip set to, and re-fitted her to a very pleasant vessel. For six years they lived on her. Please have a view of our family and history in the following pages.
